Qori, whose name means “sacred gold” in Quechua, is a young girl born in the United States to Peruvian parents. Although she has never been to Peru, she has always been curious about the land of her ancestors. During a visit to her grandmother, she discovers a magical trunk that takes her on an unforgettable journey through Peru’s coast, highlands, and rainforest, where dance, music, and tradition reveal the history and spirit of her heritage.
